Wii U finally launches THIS Sunday!!! I'm curious as to who is getting what from this community. Here's what I'm getting on day one...

Assassin's Creed III

I already have my copy of AC3 from GameStop, but I'll be picking up my Wii U and Pro Controller at 9 am on Sunday since my GameStop is opening early. Also have a 1 TB hard drive ready, and my Wii is updated and everything. Can't wait!

So who else is getting a Wii U this Sunday and what are you getting with it? I'm also curious because I'm looking forward to adding people's Nintendo Network ID's so I'm interested in seeing who will be playing what and what I will see on my WaraWara Plaza.

For myself, it will just be the console (Deluxe) as I already got my copy of Assassin's Creed 3.

I will be picking up ZombiU, New Super Mario Brothers U and Sonic Racing Transformed, but all 3 are prizes for our contests.

My Gamestop opens at midnight, so I will be getting it immediately. I haven't updated my Wii yet, probably will either tonight or tomorrow. I'm not planning on any videos. I plan to get it set up, update it, transfer everything from Wii and play a little before bed, likely a solo Nintendo Land attraction.

Because of the following reasons, I will only get the Deluxe version on Day 1:
- Nintendo Land is already quite a bit of game.
- Already spending a lot of money on the system.
- My birthday is next month.
- Christmas is next month.
- I may get review copies of some.

Agreed... that is also why my list is shorter.

I do PLAN to get NSMB U, and Epic Mickey 2, I'll have to see how those work into those 2 points. But as Hattrick mentioned, if it's not a review copy, then it will be for Christmas.

I cannot get anything day 1 all because of Frys. Instead of instore pickup they have to use a 3 day shipping method. So I will not be enjoying my Wii U until Wensday.

On day one I won't be getting anything. However, on day -4 I received Batman Arkham City Armored Edition and I have now received word that Scribblenauts Unlimited is on its way to me and should arrive any day now. I expect it today, perhaps tomorrow.

Finally think that I'm getting a console on launch day.

Last time I bought a console on launch day was.........NEVER! I've never bought a console on launch day. This will be the first time.

If everything goes right, if the stars aline......if God changes from Coke to Pepsi, by the power of the gods!.....I will have the Wii U on Sunday.

I have to say I haven't had one since the N64 on launch. NES my grandma purchased for us at some point (I think when it was relatively new), SNES my parents got us at some point, the N64 my brother and I each went in half and the Gamestop sold it to my brother a day early.

Gamecube is when I had my falling out with video games, so it wasn't until Sunshine came that I got it. Wii I had anticipated to have launch day, but my preorder didn't come in until the Friday after. So I still consider it to be a launch one though. Handhelds have always typically waited. Parents had got me the pocket, color, I got Advance one day on my own, DS was a birthday gift a little after launch, DSi I got launch day I believe, don't remember. The 3DS I waited until Zelda was close and got it in May. I was thinking launch, but had no money at the time, plus there was not a single title I wanted. 3DS XL I did get launch day, but no preorder.

When I get my Wii U, I think my first game will be ZombiU, and possibly New Super Mario Bros U after that. I haven't purchased any of the new Mario games lately, but I think that this one is similar to Super Mario World and SMB3 ( my personal favourites ) and I hear from the IGN review that the difficulty is just right.

It's going to take a price drop or a Zelda game for me to consider buying a Wii U.

For me it'll require a price drop AND a Zelda WITH Pro Controller support.

That'd be so awesome. I just feel like they'd want to utilize the tablet controller as much as possible so that you'd need it to play. But who knows, anything is possible..

I wouldn't mind playing Zelda with the gamepad. Having the pause menu on the touch screen similar to OoT 3D would be fine. Plus if the main controller for Zelda U was the gamepad then Nintendo couldn't reuse the gimmicky controls of Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess. No more motion control would be so nice.
