I've been reading The Hunger Games trilogy. I finished the 1st book last month, and I'm about a 1/4 of the way through book 2, but haven't read in a couple weeks due to life getting busier lately.

Hunger games was pretty good. I really liked the first one, second was decent, and I did not really like the third.

I'm reading the Ranger's Apprentice series, and I'm on book 4.

Gregor the Overlander is just as good, it was an earlier series by the same author.

I'm planning on reading the Princess Bride soon and then I'll probably get around to re-reading 1984.

I have this goal to read all the James Bond books and so far I'm done with the originals by Ian Fleming and am working my way through all the continuations, I'm now on one called For Special Services. I also plan to re-read the Hobbit because the movie is coming out.

If you can make the time, check out the Song of Fire and Ice series. It's what the show Game of Thrones is based off of. It's an enormous world that is really just captivating. I've read the first book in the series (Game of Thrones) and I loved every minute of it. The show is nearly identical to it as well, so if you don't want to sit down and read a good sized book you can watch the show and get the same out of it. I very highly recommend this one if you're into huge fantasy books like Lord of the Rings and such.

Also, if you're younger my favorite book growing up was "The Thief Lord" by Cornelia Funke (She's also written the more popular Inkheart trilogy). It's a great adventure set in Venice, Italy with some science fiction thrown in at the end. I remember reading it when I was around ten years old and just falling in love with it.

Oh the books are so much better. It has a ton more detail and content. I've read all 5 of them and watched both seasons. I love the series, and cannot wait until book 6.

What'd you think?

I haven't updated in a while. Basically have read all of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians along with the Heroes of Olympus series. I also read the Ranger's Apprentice series as well.

Right now I'm reading the Gardens of the Moon, a recommendation from my cousin who said it's kind of like Game of Thrones.

Post Re: What are you reading?
This thread needs revival. I've been reading a lot in the past months.

A new 007 novel came out called Solo. It's the best continuation novel and really brought the series back to the grittiness of the originals.

I read the whole volume of the 2008 reboot of Guardians of the Galaxy. It was excellent and am now really excited for the movie to come out. I am wondering if they'll use any of the story arcs from the comic seeing as how the film is using the team from this version of the Guardians.

I read a collection of short stories by David Mamet called 3 War Stories. The title is pretty self explanatory. It was a good read. Each of the stories takes place during a different time period. The first was from British Colonial times, the second was from the American Indian Wars, and the third was set during WWII.

I also read a book by Pope Benedict XVI simply titles Jesus of Nazareth. It is very philosophical and really goes in depth about the life and times of Jesus while also looking at the meaning behind his actions and the ramifications they had.

As of now I just started Patriot Games by Tom Clancy. I've never read any of his work so I figured I'd give one a shot.

I'm also reading Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brien. My soon to be Father in Law recommended that one.

I'm certain there is more that I've read but these are the ones that stick out the most to me that I figured I'd share.
