 Re: iPhone 5
So, I stopped by the Apple Store this morning just to check things out. What I observed:
1) Crazy long lines at the store. 2) People walking right into Verizon and getting their iPhone before the Apple Store even opened. Same with Sprint, AT&T, & Best Buy. 3) I got to play with one in the Verizon store, and it was VERY quick and snappy!! Excited to get mine in October.
I think I know where to go next time I'm due for an upgrade on launch-day!
Also, as a side-note, our Apple Store has a T-Mobile kiosk right outside it. Just wondering what their workers are thinking when they see ALL those iPhones sold, but none of them on their carrier. Too bad...

 Re: iPhone 5
Got it! Loving it so far, though I've been mostly busy trying to sync back all my stuff onto the phone. But it looks and feels great. The white one looks pretty cool as well, my sisters got that.

 iPhone 5
noahdp wrote: White ones are so beast. I feel quite the opposite. I think the slate back panel on the black one looks MUCH better than the white and aluminum. The white one has a weird lack of contrast with the aluminum, where the black one is complimented with the slate.

 Re: iPhone 5
Don't buy the iPhone 5! Honestly, it's not at all different to the 4S, it's just faster, and lighter, the camera isn't good, and the design never changes. Not worth upgrading unless you're getting it for free.

The camera actually is pretty good, at least for a smart phone. I upgraded from a 4 and I'm very happy I did. I'm using it right now actually... I almost always use my iPhone 5 or my iPad to browse the web nowadays.

Not worth upgrading unless you're getting it for free. I agree that it's not a whole lot different than the 4S, but I think the majority of the people that are getting it are upgrading from a 3/3S or a 4. So in that sense it was a bigger upgrade. I heard some people on the radio that had to upgrade (of their choice) from 4S to 5, which in my mind is a waste. My wife loves her 4S and doesn't want the 5. She'll probably be able to upgrade to the 5S come Sept/Oct and I plan to get the 5S at this time and retire my tablet which I don't use a whole lot.

Agreed, skip a generation or more when it comes to iphones. I was considering upgrading from the 4s to a 5, but the new features are so minimal it simply wasn't worth it, just as a 4-4s would have been a waste.

 Re: iPhone 5
Makes sense to skip a generation anyways when it's a two year contract so then every two years, get the new iPhone.

I went from the 4 to 5 and really like it. However, if you haven't tried LTE speeds, it might be enough to get you to jump from a 4S to 5. If that and a bigger screen isn't that important, then stick with the 4S.
