 Mario Kart U
Hey guys!
Now, I know this hasn't been announced yet, so do you think that they will make a Wii U version of Mario Kart? Personally, I think they will. Pretty much all the Nintendo consoles EVER have had their own version of MK, It's almost a tradition. But after generations and generations of MK getting better and better, what else can Nintendo come up with that'll make Mario Kart U special? For example: On Mario Kart Wii, you can race with bikes. There is no other MK game that lets you do that. Another example: On Mario Kart 7, you can drive using gyro technology, which is the only MK game to have that feature, too. What are your thoughts? Post a comment.

 Re: Mario Kart U
Of course, it's just a matter of when. I think they'll have some gyroscope control with the GamePad, and the screen could be used to better keep track of the map, just like how it is with the DS and 3DS games.

 Re: Mario Kart U
Well... I'd say there defietly going to make a new one. If they haven't even started on it yet then it will be about 1-2 years until they get it released. They'll probley come up with 1 or 2 more powers (items). Idk knowing nintendo they'll come up with something creative.

 Re: Mario Kart U
They will clearly add in user generated content that their major first party competitors game can do, ie ugc tracks and costumes and what not. Really they can only copy others at this point.

Perhaps, but if you had to play on the GamePad because your wife was watching Desperate Housewives (example), how would you show your racer AND the map?

Mario Kart U would have to copy the best of other racing games, mainly things like SEGA All-Star Racing (or whatever that's called), because if they start getting ideas from something like Forza Motorsport, Mario Kart would become too realistic.

That is actually a excellent point and like the wii they'll probley have a map on the right side of the TV so you can see where people are at. I think that having a map on a second screen is an exclusive format for Nintendo DS/3DS.

 Re: Mario Kart U
Well, we know it will have online play. I'm wondering when the course creation is coming. Also having the DLC for Wii U, I wonder if they will add additional courses (whether new or new retro courses).

 Re: Mario Kart U
I don't know I think it would be hard to come up 16 more courses but in every other Mario kart they managed to but this is there 8th one

 Re: Mario Kart U
I know they will have a Mario Kart for Wii U, and I imagine (unfortunately), they will probably call it Mario Kart U, unless they keep the numbering system, which I hope they do. As for what is included, I hope they do move the game forward in many ways. I'd like to see more customization all around. I would also like to see voice chat included among an even better online system. Maybe some longer tracks as well for those wanting a long race. Maybe some tiny sprint tracks too for different experiences. I don't mind if they bring bikes back or even double-dash karts, as long as they are fun and easy to control. Maybe they could do a DK Racing or Sonic Racing thing, and include planes and boats too for varying tracks.

 Re: Mario Kart U
I hope that they keep coins but I don't really like how on the 3ds all the characters can have they same combination I mean I like the the idea but I think there should be like on the wii where there are groups of characters that have the same karts but they can still have the combination thing as well just not every character can have the same combination. And I think that they should have kart upgrades so you can use coins to upgrade parts of your car.

 Re: Mario Kart U
I don't know if Nintendo is going to do this for mk for the wii u but I kinda like how you can do grand prix on multiplayer cause I did a lot with my cousin. Getting stars they've made too easy on the wii it's so much harder and thats why I like it I'm still trying to get some on mirror. I feel like they should do something special with the game pad I was thinking using the touch screen to aim with items but then I relized that it might make it hard to steer and just hold it. With the the steering part of the game, I see that they have added circle pads on the game pad and since it's big enough you don't have to turn it sideways like with a wii remote you could just use the circle pads but they should also have it so you can have the gyro controll on that too cause I like that better.

 Re: Mario Kart U
So this was announced in the recent Nintendo Direct and will be playable at E3, so maybe it'll release by the end of the year. That'd be a big holiday title for Nintendo if so.
Personally, each new Mario Kart game has gotten better and better, so I hope that trend continues. I just would like Nintendo to bring back the single player VS mode, so that if I want to race on my own, I don't need to do a full Grand Prix. That's the one big thing they took out that I want back in. Other than that, I hope they keep the communities and everything as well. I don't have any tracks in particular I want to return, but it'd be nice to get more than 32 tracks for a change. Maybe through DLC or something, if not in the retail release.

 Re: Mario Kart U
I'm sure I've posted this before, but I will be excited for new MK no matter what, but here are some things I really really want them to include:
- Online voice chat. - Biggest roster yet. - More tracks. Brand new ones (as usual) and all/most of the retro ones, instead of just a selection. - Communities with points, but beefed up from MK7 version. - Custom carts, utilizing the touch screen. - Both some longer tracks, and a few short/sprint tracks.

This would be nice, that was one the thing double dash had, that Baby Park with 7 laps, then there was a course that had like 1 or 2 laps or something.

I would think the initial mix would first be Diddy Kong Racing or Sonic Racing, but I'm very doubtful. This game sells well enough that it doesn't need to be a collab project.
