I just wanted to say that I've enjoyed the recent times on this forum. Granted, it has been much less active lately... but when there are posts, it has felt like a community. No arguing, just some great productive conversation. I have my theory on why things have been that way, but I'll keep that to mysef. What is important is that I like how things have been going. Some people like schmete and Jack (back when he was spyker), I used to argue with... but now I feel like they have good contributions whenever they post.

My reason for creating this topic is two-fold... the first was the above paragraph, to mention how good things have been. The second... we need ways to get more members. This forum finally is a great environment to discuss things, but we need many more people to actually discuss stuff. Any ideas? Having contests and things on the main site has helped before but the new members seems to disappear rather quickly. I'm at a loss for how to get more members.

Oh, and everyone check out the live podcasts once they resume at E3!

I'd like to get some 3DS tournaments going, but I have to start planning that stuff. I've yet to play Kid Icarus online with friends as I need to know how that works.

I was looking at doing a ladder type of tournament, or a round robin for that.

I also wanted a Mariokart 7 one as well, and that's much easier to track with the community feature.

Eventually have a Mario Tennis Open one.

I know it falls on me to plan this stuff, but hopefully it will attract some members who will stick around and discuss after the events.

Any ideas for these are also appreciated in effort to help increase daily activity.

Well Ive been in a state of deciding to just leave or not so thats practically why Ive decreased commenting as much. Additionally, Ive just decided to do a change of course with commenting on things so my output of comments has decreased rather rapidly in that regard too. My game playing experience has decreased ten fold essentially for the past two months(?) and at least for a few more days as Ive been writing this huge five year science proposal and presentation while simultaneously trying to generate enough data to get some science papers in the pipeline for the next season or two.

I think over time new members will join or with articles to the main site that really get numbers flowing rather than contests?

Keep cranking out Wii u articles that aught to nab a few new members. As for me, well finals are next week so I'm pretty busy with studying and end of the semester projects.

I attributed the civility and lack or arguments to the lack of activity. Fewer posts means fewer opportunities to argue. Plus, I don't have a lot of input for topics as of late, since most have been about the 3DS, which I don't own.

Yea, I can't wait for E3... I'm sure that'll attract more discussion since there will be plenty to discuss. And a new console launch also provides discussion. So things should be picking up hopefully.

And on that note by the way, we will be doing a live podcast right before and right after Nintendo's E3 Conference, just like we did last year. We'll have hattrick and whoever else from NintendoFuse going to E3 call in and talk to us live, so that should be cool.
