Post Wii U Freezing/Disconnecting
Hrm... so I was playing Mario Chase with my friend, and we went to choose a different stage, and the whole thing froze. It made a continuous droning sound, as certain devices do when they freeze, and the GamePad would shut off, but the actual console wouldn't. I had to unplug it.

THEN, I was playing Captain Falcon's Twister Race, and the GamePad kept randomly disconnecting. Eventually, it froze again. Not sure what's been happening, but I can't say I'm too happy! I love the Wii U otherwise, but I don't want ot have to send it in for repairs on the second day :/

Has anyone else been experiencing these kinds of problems? The guy I talked to at Nintendo Customer Support said that people only seemed to be complaining about Nintendo Land freezing.

After I updated Nintendo Land, it froze on the title screen. Since then it's worked fine though.

Did you let Nintendo Land update before playing? Not sure what else would be the problem..

Yeah, I updated the system AND Nintendo Land... It worked without any problems today, though, so that's good! When I went to turn it on the GamePad wouldn't connect to the Wii U twice (even though I was right beside it), but my cell phone was in the way, so perhaps it was causing interference.

I called Nintendo, and they said that the system only seems to be freezing for Nintendo Land, according to all the people who called in, so I'm relieved that it's not the system! Oh well, hopefully I won't have any more problems. I'm loving the console :)

Hmmm... Maybe you just got a bad disc or something.

Me and my cousin played for 10 hours straight and we didn't experience any problems with freezing or disconnecting

I've had multiple freezes the past few days with Nintendo Land which require me to unplug the system to turn it off. Also half the time I load up AC3 (I have it downloaded), I get an error saying there is no disk. This error I can turn off Wii U normally with, but it's weird cause I have AC3 downloaded, not on disk anymore.

So definitely some weird stuff going on, but this is happening to most everyone and Nintendo's customer service website mentions they are aware of it all. So hopefully we get some fixes soon.

I've only had two freezes, and they both happened when I was opening the Amazon app. It would just sit there and not do anything. But that's been it.

Seems to be a launch rife with problems, Nintendo should have delayed the system to ensure that it is stable as issues shouldnt be affected and inconveniencing everyone. Truly one of the worst launches in history.

Definitely. I've had hardly ANY problems at all. One of the worst launches EVER! Even worse than the Saturn or Virtua Boy for sure!! :nintendorks: lol

I also haven't had many problems (or any). My console seems to be fine. No freezing or anything, just the long load times. I also probably have less time logged than others, but I'm trying to work on it.

I know right... I mean why have 90% awesome stuff and 10% issues when I can have nothing at all! 0% fun is much better than 90%. Makes perfect sense.

I don't agree with that reasoning either Nintendo had plenty of time to make sure everything is working. For the most part it is. There hasn't been nearly as many complaints about this launch as there were when the Xbox 360 launched. Red rings of death any one?

Well, tonight, I had it freeze up for the first time while it was just sitting in MiiVerse. Hmm... So far, it's not worse than my Wii, as it froze up occasionally too.

Sounds like it is much worst than issues with 360 launch as that didnt effect everyone. Ive been hearing more complaints about Wii U than any of the positives, like no one has not said not one thing good of Wiiverse.

Wiiverse sounds fun! I love Miiverse. It's harder to talk about it, since we actively use it, so it'd be like posting the same information multiple times. I also see lots of posts from friends.

Post Re: Wii U Freezing/Disconnecting
So I realized something today... I was getting an error sometimes with AC3 when I booted it up asking me to eject the disk or something. Happened for the first time with NSMBU today, so I decided to look up the error code. Looks like it was because my external hard drive was not properly powered! I plugged in a Y cable and no errors so far.

So looks like half of these issues were my own fault. Now whether this affects some of the freezing I've had, I'm not sure. Only time will tell.

To start with, you should check out the other threads where we are talking positive about it, instead of just getting your fuel from this one thread about problems. If you choose to only look where people are complaining, that will be all you see.

Now, about the 360... You don't even have one (to my knowledge), nor do you have a Wii U, so you have no personal experience with either. Besides that, my Wii U has only frozen 3 times, which is about the same, as I said, as my Wii. Nothing big, and it hasn't happened in a game or caused any damage. If that changes, maybe my opinion will change, but as of right now, I am not upset or expecting horrible things to happen as you seem to, or so you imply.

Yea Trist, your posts are getting rather annoying. Everyone that owns a Wii U on this forum has I believe said they are really liking it. You're going back to trolling which is not cool. Yes, Wii U has some issues... but we've discussed plenty, plenty more great things about it on this forum. Either go read those or stop making your terrible assumptions.

I have had not one single problem with my Wii U since I got it. Not even freezing with nintendoland. Nothing. Everything has worked just fine. I am really surprised. Especially after hearing the freezing issues with nintendoland.

Have a coke and a smile TristX, everything's gonna be alright. :dslite:

I fall into this category too. 0 freezes, 0 errors. Just hour long updates, or quarter hour updates.

I love Miiverse! ^_^ I think it's a neat way to connect with other Nintendo fans. A lot of the people at my school are either not that into gaming, or prefer other "hardcore" consoles, so it's kind of hard to find people who share my passion. On Miiverse, those people are just a few clicks away. It's a great opportunity to show off artwork, screenshots, and thoughts about the different games! There's something utterly goofy about being able to "unyeah" a post.

Whelp, there goes my perfect record. COD froze on me. I made it to a check point and then automatically the guy walked into non-movable rocks and couldn't do anything. It had seemed like the game was still going since it was giving me a message, but it couldn't move so I hit the power on the surge protector. The gamepad was able to be turned off with the power button, but holding down the system's power did not turn it off (like it did for Wii).

I think it was goofy since it said I tried to trigger an explosive too early, but I was super close to where I was supposed to be, so it was confused.
