Anywho, I need some sleep, stayed up for the Jap ND, then got up early for the NA ND and have stayed up ever since . Also, jesus, Jack. I understand if you don't like the games, but calling them trash? So you think: - Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Mass Effect 3: Special Edition - Assassin's Creed III - Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition - Scribblenauts Unlimited - Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Darksiders II - Just Dance 4 - Rayman Legends - ZombiU - Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge - LEGO City: Undercover - Pikmin 3 - Wii Fit U - The Wonderful 101 - Game & Wario - Skylanders Giants - Aliens: Colonial Marines - Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper - Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Trine 2: Director's Cut - Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien - Zumba Fitness Core- Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition - Nano Assault Neo - Toki Tori 2 are all trash? Then what's your definition of a good game, huh? lol? Zumba?! Is not trash/a good game? What, and you kept the ports in there, TTT2 is out, MH3U is a port, isnt WO3 a port?Darksiders 2 is a port, Batman and Mass Effect 3 are ports (and that ending and gameplay, ME3 might as well not be a good game... It's a casual game, does that automatically make it bad? Neither of us have played it, so until we do, we can't judge it. So what if they are ports? They are still part of the launch line-up. A lot of people haven't played those games, so I think my point stands.

When were you under the impression that Ive not played a game in the Zumba franchise? Mass Effect 3 - Mass Effect 3 sold 1.5 million copies for consoles, with 3.5 million shipped for all platforms Uhm, quite a lot of people have played Mass Effect 3 "On February 8, 2012, it was announced that Batman Arkham City over 6 million units of the game had been shipped since release" Well theres even more for Batman Arkham City. Anyway I think Jack's point was that its not really a robust line up if the ports, games that most people have already played, are removed. Apart from people who have only owned one console and lack a competant PC, I highly doubt lots of people will be getting ports of games they most likely already have and played at launch just for Wii U, especially when the Wii U versions dont really offer nothing truly new to the original game (is a new suit and some gadgets really enough to spend 59.99 on to get Batman and play again or that same amount just to reexperience Mass Effect 3?, especially when you cant import any of your decisions from the past two games?!)

 Wii U - Info & Discussion
Note to Subtle: points being made by Trist and Jack are from the perspective of people who own multiple consoles, not just a Wii. I'm sure for the Wii exclusive gamer, this lineup is a godsend. For anyone else, it's a list of old games and ports, with a few decent new titles tossed in.

 Re: Wii U - Info & Discussion
That's the problem with people that call themselves hard core, all the "casual" games are trash or are considered shovel-ware. Ports aside, I think think there are plenty of good titles. Not every title fits the style of games I play, but that doesn't make them trash.
AC3 is more an enhanced port, we just have to wait an extra 19 days for it.

I sadly fall into that boat (not that I despite Nintendo, but the fact that I haven't really been able to own other consoles to play some of the other games). Also, I hope they port the first Bayonetta game.

I think it's pretty bada** of Nintendo to make Bayonetta an exclusive title. I also think Nintendo's lineup in general is actually pretty awesome, and I'll be looking forward to the day I get a Wii U deluxe, because you'd have to be an idiot to get the basic set.

 Re: Wii U - Info & Discussion
I've read on several sites that places are selling out.
I saw Gamestop has stopped with Wii U Deluxe Best buy is done taking pre-orders Target was done with Wii U deluxe (I believe) Amazon won't be offering pre-orders
Haven't heard anything about Toys R Us, so pre-orders are going quickly.

Haven't heard anything about Toys R Us, so pre-orders are going quickly. Yea, it's Wii all over again. Pre-orders are mostly gone already, soon the Basic set will be out as well. I remember with Wii people would line up outside stores to pre-order if the store happened to get more pre-orders... I know because that was me. Kind of a mad rush to get pre-orders at Toys "R" Us though I managed to. And all this is without the general public really knowing about it. It'll surely be a hot item during the holidays. Jack wrote: Apple sold out of iPhone preorders within an hour.
*justsaying I know you're not really serious, but terrible comparison for a phone and a dedicated gaming console. For a gaming console, that's pretty crazy to sell out of pre-orders so fast, before the general public really even knows about the thing. But whatever, I got both iPhone 5 and Wii U pre-ordered so I'm set :)

There's only 1 Frys by me. That's where my sister got the Wii in Feb after launch, she had to call and call and call to get one for her boyfriend (now husband). I knew it would go quick, so I went immediately after work on that Thursday, I was #8 or #9 at my Gamestop. The manager said I should be getting it on launch day.

Guess I should have pre-ordered at GS the other day when I was in and asked about it. I just didn't want to do it there, because it was one of our mall stores. Was going to go to the stand-alone one instead. :-/

 Wii U - Info & Discussion
I've changed my mind on which SKU is worth the money. If I were getting one, I'd get the basic set, and spend the money I saved on an external drive. The things the Pro SKU, or whatever it's called, comes with are unnecessary and not worth the money. The only real benefit to the higher end package is the additional memory, which really isn't worth the money for an extra 24GB.
That said, I think it would be foolish to get the pro package. You'll be wasting your money on a mini game pack and various cradles. Just get the basic and a dedicated external HDD.
EDIT: Yeah, you can either have Nintendo Land, some cradles, and 24 extra GB for $50, or you can get a 160GB external drive for $50. If you're really into digital distribution, you can spend $75 on your external and get 500GB. Or, you know, get the cradles and stuff. That's cool too.

I think that's why Nintendo said the "basic" one is more for the core audience. Since they already have extra memory, and they wouldn't want Nintendo Land. I got the deluxe since I'd rather not start using my external drive that soon, I wanted a black console, that promotion network premium sounds very good to have. Also, I would have likely skipped Nintendo Land and only was going to get it if bundled in. So to add $50, seemed worth it to me. I have plenty of games and saves to transfer from my Wii.
