Those are 3rd party ones, I tend to stick to the official ones. I have an official black one, will eventually get another when the time is right. I'm glad I got one, the battery on the GamePad is like either just as bad or worse than the 3DS. It's a lot harder to play with it charging with the rotating and steering required for Nintendo Land games. It really helped play longer on COD and Transformers (and already calling that I'll need it for AC3).

Just sayin'. That's the point of these discussions. I'm not one to go for the 3rd party ones, as they usually are of a lesser quality and also they make it feel different than the official ones.

Those are looking pretty sweet, just since they are not official ones, I won't be buying them. If it was a turbo controller, I might consider it (do they even make those anymore?)

From the N64 days until now, I have stuck with first-party controllers too. Much more reliable. However, those do look cool, and until I saw them, I never realized the Pro Controller looks so much like an SNES controller with the analog sticks and grips attached.

And people say the Pro controller is a copy of the 360 controller... No, the 360 controller is a copy of the SNES controller.

Right you are old chap.

I do too love first party, over the years buying 3rd parties sucked really bad as A) they never felt right. And B) they broke really really fast. These look like they are made pretty good at first glance. But you never really know.

Third party accessories are notorious for their poor quality. I wouldn't even bother wasting my money on them. I don't think they look at the great either.

Tried a third party controller for the N64 and it broke. Only controller of mine that broke I believe. Since then, I've only gotten first party controllers... though my sisters did get GCN controllers from Five Below that are almost exactly like the Nintendo ones, and we've used those sometimes since we needed more GCN controllers.

Just comments I've read on other sites. Maybe they were joking or something, I don't know. I've read that before the release of the Wii U, so I don't know if they were haters, or joking or people saying people would say that.

Well, the only way a SNES and 360 controller are similar is that they have colored ABXY buttons (not in the same layout, either). Other than that, they're completely different.

The pro controller has a very similar design to the 360 controller, though. The button layout is quite different, but the overall design aesthetic is pretty close. However, that's a genius move by Ninty. The 360 controller is the most comfortable controller out there. My only gripe with the Pro controller is that they dropped the ABXY buttons to the lower half of the controller, which doesn't make much sense to me.

It may not make any sense, but is sure does work well and fell comfortable.

Me too, I played COD and Transformers with it and it worked perfectly. Felt natural to me.

It just seems odd to push the face buttons to the side when most of the first party titles use them more than the right analog (this applies to most third party games, too, save for FPSs). I guess on paper it just sounds weirder than it might be in practice. Nobody has ever put a right analog above the face buttons before, and I think there's good reason for that.

I'm guessing it was for copyright purposes or something, if it was too similar to the 360 controller. Maybe. Regardless, I will say that that did throw me off at first since I've used the 360 controller. But I got used to it and it feels nice. Both the 360 controller and Wii U Pro Controller are quite comfortable.

It just seems like it would make more sense to have the face buttons where your thumb naturally lands, rather than the right analog. I get that they were probably wary of patent issues, but they should have just made their own design in that case, rather than laying out the buttons oddly. The shape is great, layout not so much.

I find it to be very fitting. While I have limited use with the 360 controller, I think it works and fits well. It is similar to the layout on the GamePad, so if you get adjusted to that controller, than the pro controller is basically the same. It's basically the same layout without the screen and shelf like buttons on the back.

I also think the button layout is strange on the pad.

First party new from gamestop. No matter which way I push it it always goes down. Didn't drop it once.
