Post Greg's Gaming Log
Decided I wanted to keep a log of what I play, so that I can look back how I'm spending my time gaming, and which games I played. There may be little spoilers, if it turns into a huge deal I'll add the tags. After all this is more of my personal gaming journal. Comments or requests are welcome.

As today Jan 9,
PC: Skyrim, waiting to go back to White Run after defeating my first dragon.
Wii: Skyward Sword - Ready to start the 3rd area
Wii: Fortune Street - getting warmed up playing by playing multiplayer with my wife
3DS: Cave Story 3D - near the end around the plantation
3DS: Pushmo - absolutely loving this game, 19 puzzles left
3DS: Freakyforms - hard to judge progress, but just unlocked the QR Code reader.

Post Re: Greg's Gaming Log
Last night I logged another game of Fortune Street, took a look at Metroid Fusion (briefly) [3DS VC game].

Yesterday I beat Cave Story 3D on Normal (game has easy, Normal, Hard; started on normal). Activity log says that took around 9 hours. Pretty disappointed that it's basically just the same game with upgraded graphics. I started hard to see if I could do it. Basically on hard mode the game plays the same, except it appears that all of the life capsules are now gone (so far). I just got to Bushlands and about to get some Jellyfish Juice (first time).

Also beat that tricky puzzle on Pushmo, only 18 (last 'world') to go!

Finally, looking for a vote to see what wins the play time tonight. Games up for votes: Skyrim, Skyword Sword.

What should I play tonight, Skyrim or Skyword Sword?

Did you actually beat Cave Story, or just finish it? There are a ton of endings in that game, and the best (real) ending isn't really easy to get. And I'm sure you didn't go through Hell in that game. You probably have a lot more you could do in the game. That is, I'd you didn't know all that already.

Then I guess I "finished" it. Had no idea there was multiple endings. I typically cover most of the levels trying to find secrets and doors, but don't always get them.

I saw a note to get the booster 2.0, but didn't know how to get that. I only played the DSiware game once, this was my second run through. Never heard of "hell" level.

Yeah, there are a number of endings. Lots of little events change the story line, most of which seem really strange. I recommend looking them up, because they're almost impossible to discover on your own.

I did a few more Pushmo puzzles and down to 14 or so left.

Wednesday I worked late and thus did not have time for Skyward Sword. Tomorrow I will follow through with the vote winner and add on some time.

This weekend I did some GBA game play since I am organizing the followup to the first Ambassador tournament. I felt like I made plenty of ground and got a majority of the titles figured out. Should be interesting to see scores and times coming in for this set of titles.

Saturday played some more Skyrim - became a companion, killed a bandit leader (bounty), and fought off a creeper that was bothering one of the female villagers in White Run. Gained 2 levels :)

More GBA play this weekend as well.

Started some Tetris Axis. Some of the new modes are quite fun. Missing some of the good ones from Tetris DS though.

I'm not a fan for discovering "secret" endings (without hints/clues), and also not a fan of looking up guides - so I'm probably done with Cave Story 3D.

Last night logged some more Skyward Sword time, finished off temple 3.

Sure! I need to brush up on how the multi-player works for this game.

Some new updates: (since last time)

Played a game of Fortune street (solo)
Played more Pushmo - down to the last level!
Played GBA Games (Yoshi's Island, Scared Stones, Minish Cap)
Installed and started a few different games of Heroes and Might and Magic 3
Installed and started a campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic 5
Played some more games of Tetris Axis
Cleared Streetpass Mystery Boxes in Super Mario 3D Land, received gifts from Hattick and Dark Wish (thank you for 2 Tanooki suits!)

Saturday had a Nintendo Game Marathon with my friend including:
1 game of Fortune Street
few races of Jimmy Johnson's Anything With an Engine
Several matches of Super Mario Sluggers (GC)
Demoed for him: Pushmo, Freaky Forms, Tetris Axis, Cave Story 3D

I always show him new games I've gotten, he shows me any he's gotten (which he got 0 new ones that I don't already have). We always play GC Super Mario Sluggers since its our favorite game since we are at the same skill level. We avoid Smash Brothers (any) since he always wins against me, and Mariokart (any) since I always destroy him.

Haha you're welcome I guess! Probably from Mario Kart 7 I assume? That's pretty cool.

Yep! I was looking to disable Spotpass, but couldn't find the option for this game. Plenty of random mushroom houses. Ah well. I'll be clearing them out when I max out my Mystery boxes.

Sorry I misspelled your name Hattrick!

Next update:
Beat Pushmo's final stage and ... well I already posted a spoiler in the complete thread.
Last night I played VVVVVV finally, and it is a truly fun game. I actually "beat" it last night too. By beat, I mean I rescued all the crew members, and got 11 out of 20 trinkets. I'd like to get all of them, but I shall see. Not sure what else there is to do, but I'll definitely be playing some more. How many lives did I lose? Over 1,000. It gets that hard. There was 1 trinket I really wanted and died 250 lives and never got it. I have no idea how to get it.

On a side note, my 3DS game case from Club Nintendo arrived today. Going to fill it up right now.

Played more VVVVVV, picked up 6 more trinkets. Only 3 to go, know where 1 is.. that's the one I couldn't get after 250 deaths.

Also playing lots of Scared Stones. I'm really enjoying it!

It is hard, but at at least you get infinite lives. They did make some parts very painful. Once you die you also instantly respawn, so there's no huge downtime either.

Yeah, you can die like 10 times in a second or two. It's not very frustrating when you die, since checkpoints are at the beginning of every room.

Played more Minish Cap, Scared Stones and VVVVVV. Getting close to the 100% on VVVVVV (I believe). I have 19/20 trinkets, and 4 rooms that I've never been in. Not sure how to get the last trinket as it's marked in one of the 4 unexplored rooms. The one I lost over 250 lives on I finally got after I figured out the strategy to get it. Those with the game, it's the room labeled "Edge Games".

Finished off the main story on VVVVVV and discovered all of the extra levels and settings. Not sure if I will go through it as one of them was ridiculously hard.

Finishing up Minish Cap as well. I made it to Vaati's room, but I've been getting the figurines, kinstone matching, and trying to find my missing tiger scroll. I have 6, know where #8 and #9 is.

Finally played some Skyward Sword on Sunday. Even though it was a good 2+ hour session, I only picked up the next quest after beating Temple 3 (start the Hero's quest).

Looking at some Skyrim time either tomorrow or Saturday.
