I also really liked it! Had a great story, lovable characters, nice game references, etc. Just so many neat little touches that showed how much effort they put into this movie. Really enjoyed it! Definitely gonna buy this on 3D Blu-ray when it releases.

Seconded!

We loved the movie.

Spoiler: show
We really liked the world they created in the fuse box and all the ports to the games. We also enjoyed the numerous references to other games (like the Konomi code!).

Definitely will be a must buy on DVD.

I wish I had time to watch Wreck-it Ralph, with all the praise I've heard about it. But, I can't watch any movies until after finals, and The Hobbit comes out after the end of the world...

Watched Cloud Atlas today... let's just say I was very disappointed. Confusing movie, and it just did not click for me.

Spoiler: show
I knew going into it that it would contain multiple stories, but from what I read a bit into the movie everything would click and it would become clear how they were all connected. I mean, I somewhat saw the links like how Sonmi or whatever her name is was connected to those other characters... so hard to describe them since actors played so many different characters. But anyways, I saw some links, but I just didn't get the significance of it or anything. It was just all too disconnected for me, felt like multiple stories rather than one.

I will give them major props on having the actors play multiple characters... Tom Hanks popped up as like 10 different characters, no joke. Some of them I didn't even realize at first and some I'm still guessing about. Very well done in the acting and makeup department. The story just didn't click for me though.

Went to the midnight showing of Skyfall. It was great. I would say it's up there with Casino Royale, Goldeneye, and From Russia With Love, maybe even better.

I've been wanting to watch the Bond movies, like try to see every one of them. I've seen a number of them, but only Gold Finger and Goldeneye the most.

Well go see Skyfall you won't be disappointed. Also, if you haven't seen Casino Royale or From Russia With Love I recommend those before most the others. I'm kind of a fanboy when it comes to the Bond series. I've read most the books as well.

Saw Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2
That was just a fun concluding movie, so many good scenes, wish it wasn't the last one.
Spoiler: show
All those awkward moments made it so funny and the best scene was Jacob stripping lol. Lots of good romance stuff with Edward made it good too even if Bella is still a dull character and why so overpowered? The new vampires were mostly interesting characters with great powers, element Bender was the best, that water bending, firebending, and earth bending, and then the electricity specialist and bellas shield.

I teared up in the action scene, my favorites meeting such fates, Dakota fannings was worthwhile though the wolves and even Carlisle, I mean he's been with us so long and yet to go out that way was hard to endure. I could feel his wifes pain and for the wolf, Jacobs too. Then the antagonists ones, ouch. Should have gone with that storyline.

Solid casting all around everyone in this was memorable. Only thing extra needed were more Jacob/Edward scenes, they are funny together, and I liked how the credits rolled, seeing everyones name, character, and pose.

Now to wait two years for the graphic novel.

Anyone see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey?

I saw it in HFR IMAX 3D and really enjoyed it. It was entertaining, looked great visually (especially with HFR, though that took some getting used to), and the music was awesome. I wasn't hyped for it, but I ended up really liking the movie. I need to re-watch the LOTR trilogy now, got the extended editions on blu-ray but haven't been able to watch them yet so hopefully soon.

I saw The Hobbit on its opening weekend on a "normal" screen, with no 3D, IMAX, or HFR. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it! In fact, I liked it much better than the LOTR trilogy.

I still really want to see The Hobbit! I like the book more than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I've been re-watching the Futurama movies, and forgot how awesome they are. I don't usually burst out laughing, but Futurama always manages to make me do just that.

I went to a Good Day to Die Hard last night. It was terrible. My buddy and I walked out halfway through the movie. It felt more like a parody of the Die Hard films.

On a better note I also saw Zero Dark Thirty a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

I saw the movie Silver Linings Playbook recently. Great movie! It was funny, dramatic, emotional, etc. Interesting story and really good acting from the cast. Both Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper did great in their roles. Jennifer Lawrence was the reason I went to see the movie, but came away enjoying everything.

Yes, it was a great movie and they acted very well. My wife works in the mental health field, and she really liked it too. It was not only entertaining, but it helps others know a bit of what people go through who struggle with mental illness.

Finally saw Argo, loved it.

Watching all the Bond movies with my girlfriend, since I now own the Bluray box set, currently finished 7/23.

Thread revival! Ender's Game trailer came out recently. Looks okay, but Asa Butterfield, the actor playing Ender, said in a post on Reddit that he "didn't want this to be another sci-fi piece of shoot" or something like that, and that he was doing everything he could to make fans of the novel happy. That's nice, and I hope that he lives up to his words, since his character is a pretty emotionally complex one, but he's not the director or screenwriter, so he can only do so much.

I do think it could be done very well, since there are trivial bits shown in the trailer, like Mazer Rackham having tattoos, that one wouldn't know with even a relatively decent knowledge of the series (I didn't even know). So, I have high hopes with higher caution. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Trailer looked interesting. I've heard a lot about the Ender's Game books, but never read them... Maybe I should.

Anyone seen "Now You See Me"? The trailer for it looked interesting, but I never saw it in theaters. I ended up finding it online and streaming it, and I really liked it. So much so that I just bought the extended edition from iTunes. It kept me guessing the whole time. I suppose it won't have the same appeal the next time I watch, but at least I can watch it again now knowing certain things and I can watch it a few times with other family members and show them the movie. And I had some iTunes credit sitting around, so it was all worth it for me.

MAJOR SPOILERS:
Spoiler: show
After a while, I kind of caught on that the guy behind it all would be the one that supposedly drowned. But, I did not see the twist with Mark Ruffalo's character being the son of that guy, and him being behind it. I felt like there were enough twists in the movie as is, so I wasn't expecting yet another (and more major) twist in the movie.

@DarkWish Yep, we saw it in the theater. Great concept & I think they executed it quite well. We really enjoyed it. Always like a story that keeps you guessing until the end.

I went to see "You're Next" tonight. Although it's touted as a horror/drama film, I found it to also have many effective black comedy portions. Although I'm not usually a fan of horror movies because of the terrible stories, I genuinely enjoyed the film. If you're into that kind of thing, I'd recommend it.

I know this isn't directly movie-related, but I saw the series finale of Futurama the other night. I loved Futurama, and I felt pretty sad to see it go. I wouldn't be all that surprised if Netflix adopted the show in the same way it did Arrested Development, where it helps to fund a new season. I'll be crossing my fingers!
