Post Anime/Manga
A thread to discuss all things anime and/or manga. Please use spoiler tags when necessary.

Here's what I have seen so far (completely, anyway):

    - .hack//Legend of the Twilight (not bad. childish, but it's about a video game so I liked it, haha)
    - Witch Hunter Robin (pretty good)
    - Neon Genesis Evangelion (mind-blowing... and disturbing)
    - Eureka Seven (favorite!)
    - Death Note (awesome. the first season is much better than the second though)
    - My-HiME (not bad)
    - Suzuka (loved it)
    - Moon Phase (just finished today; kinda mediocre, but cute)
    - Fruits Basket (great series. aimed a girls, but anyone could enjoy it)

Also, I'm still keeping up with Bleach... up to 221 episodes already. Been watching that since it came out in 2004. ;)

My collection: http://praried0g.dvdaf.com/owned

Favorite anime websites:
http://www.RightStuf.com - by far the best place to buy anime DVDs. Great sales.
http://www.AnimeNewsNetwork.com - find synopsis and reviews of your favorite anime and anime/manga news
http://www.AnimeSuki.com - list of unlicensed anime torrents

Yeah the premise of it is quite mind blowing (the existence of traveling between dimensions, etc). However I like its fight scenes and this sci fi premise. There is quite a few drama too. I think its nice, I almost have just 6 episodes left in its 24 episode season.

Oh yeah, I've seen most of Miyazaki's movies, too.

My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's Delivery Service
Porco Rosso
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle (this is the only one I actually own though, heh)

Out of those, Kiki's Delivery and Princess Mononoke were my favorites.

Right now I'm watching Cowboy Bebop for the first time. So far it's pretty good :).

Post Re: Anime/Manga
I really liked Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away too. I've only seen both of those once though. I think I would appreciate them more if I watched them again. Miyazaki's movies are always so strange and random... but at the same time so awesome because they're so imaginative (even if they don't make much sense, haha). I think I prefer the two I listed because they have the most understandable/coherent storylines, heh. I still need to watch Nausicaa though.

Yeah, Cowboy Bebop is a different kind of show. It was pretty groundbreaking when it came out in '98, though (and kind of controversial, I think). Many people consider it one of the best anime series of all time, but I've know of a few people who just didn't care for it; I guess it's not for everyone. It's episodic storytelling, so you can pretty much watch it whenever and not be completely lost though. I'm up to ep. 8 now, and it's definitely better than when it first started. The music in the show is awesome.

I just bought all of FMA, so no spoilers (please)! I'm looking forward to watching it though. Trying to decide whether to watch the sub or dub version. I think Ed's voice is perfect in the English version, but Al's is just annoying... I dunno.

Well personally I saw all of FMA on Cartoon Network (as much as I could I saw of it) I think I missed a few episodes but I did see a lot of it & I might just break down & see it all eventually but I saw enough of it to understand what happened to lead up to the ending that I've seen twice. x3 But it's good so don't worry about any spoilers from me. x3 I was thinking about watching all of Yu-Gi-Oh GX online but IDK I didn't like Jaden's english voice @ all <.< Ugh x3

Yeah, but Yugioh is for kids. Anyway, at least you watch the Japanese version and not the butchered 4Kids dub. =)

Escaflowne is on my list of anime to watch for sure. I've heard a lot of good things about it. I also need to watch Gurren Lagann and Code Geass.

I've seen Eureka Seven and Evangelion, which are both mecha anime... sorta. They both have mecha in them anyway, heh.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Haha, nah, I don't hate Yugioh that much. It's just I think it's one of the shows that gives anime a bad rep because it's what most people see on TV. People think all anime is like Yugioh or Pokemon, when really that's not the case at all. It can be (and usually is) a lot more mature and deep. Also, like I mentioned the dub for Yugioh has to be one of the worst (okay fine, except for your beloved "Dan Green," haha). That's why I don't like Yugioh.

Yea that maybe so at least until they see the japanese version of it then the anime of YuGiOh changes. Also there are other kiddy anime's that are MUCH worse then Pokemon OR YuGiOh IMPO. Can you say Digimon? Sure you can x3

Agreed, Digimon is worse than both of those. I'm ashamed that I used to watch it when I was younger (before I knew that there was such a thing as "anime"), haha. :shy:

I love certain seasons of Digimon, such as Season 3 with Takato, and Guilmon.

But Ive always wanted to watch Gundam and Gundam Wing from beginning to end.
