As the title suggests, we here at NintendoFuse wanted to host a friendly, little hi-scores competition for all you 3DS Ambassadors. Of course, little did we know that what we thought would be a simple little contest turned out to be freaking HUGE! So, without further ado, let's get to it!



Since there are 10 NES games available for you Ambassadors, we have decided to split the competition out over the course of 5 weeks. Every Sunday morning, we will inform you of which games are eligible for the hi-score competition that week.

Okay, now we're going to get into prizes/winnings so pay close attention.

We have several prizes to give away over the course of these 5 weeks. Some of the prizes include games, figurines, shirts, and well, there's more.

Each week, the top 3 hi-scorers will be our winners. While all 3 people will receive prizes, the 1st place winner will get the better of the prizes and so on, obviously. You are eligible to win every week if you are willing to put the time into each game.

At the end of the contest, we, the staff here at NintendoFuse will select the 3 Grand Prize Winners. Yes, you read that correctly. Not only can you win FREE stuff for 6 weeks in a row, you can also be eligible to win one of our GRAND prizes! All you have to do is play some games, register on our forums and post your scores! How incredibly easy and fun is that?!

The way this will work is through a random drawing. In order to be entered into the drawing, you must place in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place each week of the contest. For whomever places in 1st place, you will receive 3 entries into our grand prize drawing. Second place receives 2 entries, and Third place receives 1 entry.

I repeat:

1st Place = 3 entries
2nd Place = 2 entries
3rd Place = 1 entry

The better you do, the greater your chances of winning a grand prize, on top of the FREE stuff you will win during each week. Please note, 1 Grand Prize per person.

RULES

Entries must be in the form of either a video or a picture.
All entries must clearly show your 3DS unit, the hi-score screen, and we must be able to clearly see the hi-score. Please make sure you include a slip of paper with your screen name on it in the photo. See below for a good example.



Your entries must be posted on the OFFICIAL COMPETITION FORUM and you are more than welcome to update your entries throughout the week. So remember, if you see someone has a better score than you, get back on the game and go for higher!

I have no idea what is considered a "good" score in Mario Bros, but I just got 275800. I made some stupid mistakes though. I'll wait to post a pic, I know I can do better.

I broke 200,000 in balloon, and over 250,000 in Mario. I think that the balloon score got deleted though...

Yes sir it is. Mario 1 is MY game. It was the FIRST game I beat, and first game I went for 100% on. While those runs took longer, I did this one in one sitting today. No tricks, straight up going to the end of each level, beating all 32 levels.

Don't think I'm not going to make it higher either, this is my first entry. Setting that bar high since like Wrecking Crew, I KNOW what I'm doing.

After seeing my last week failure with the tie-breaker, I think the way with DK Jr was pretty strategic. Setting the bar so high that it remains and people "give" up on it. Should be interesting scores with SMB this week :). I accept all challenges to my score.

Make a leaderboard because im coming for that # 1 spot!!!!!!!!!


Mario will be dominated by me.

I have a brain buster. I almost considered not trying the tie-breaker. Assuming Dark Banana and Lanky were still the only ones that submitted the tie-breaker, how would have it been done for 3rd place? There would have been 3 of us still tied. Would have you considered when the score was posted? Or would there be another tie-breaker? Or would you just give us all an entry? I wonder...

I'm just glad I can't stop pulling my hair out and rest for a few days. I might be done with games for a few days but I will pick it up and post scores later in the week. I still don't know how you guys got such great scores for DK Jr. I really thought that was going to be my game, but beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I thought the same of Wrecking Crew. I thought the same for Ice Climber, was not expecting to be flooded with several last minute entries. I was confident that my Ice Climber was high enough, and thought 3rd was a safe bet.

Time to control Super Mario Brothers. That one is mine! Balloon Fight I'm willing to sacrifice if need be. Need to get all set before Zelda week hits.
