Same. I got to local/regional/national tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Brawl every now & then. However I would like to find an offline tourney for Mario Kart 7 near me, that has money or some kind of good prize.

Just a fun grudge match, no points, just plain racing fun. I offered to race Kirby/Samuel, and he thought we should make an event out of it. So I was asking if finalists wanted a chance to practice (or scope out the competition), give opportunities to the defeated contestants and/or those that missed the tournament to play, and plus I like playing with you guys.

8 PM EST, so I think 5pm for you out on the west coast.

Theres a chance I might be a finalist depending on some circumstances I think I should be able to play on Wednesday.

He's been ignoring me now, so I don't know the status of it.. I also didn't know if he is good on Saturday...

Right now I haven't heard of the showdown happening. I know I forwarded your request, but I have not heard of anything definite. So unless I hear that it took place and you won, then I wasn't counting on sending you a code.

There also is not an easy way to tell if he's a no show, so I can't just add you in prematurely. It would not be fair to other 3rd place finishers if you got a code and they did not. Also even if I noticed he wasn't playing at after say a half hour, then you'd already be at a disadvantage. Then would you say that your time was shortened you deserved X points to qualify for for Xth (rd, nd, st) place?

I'm sorry that you had connection problems and dropped GPs in your semi-finals match, but that is mostly beyond my control. I can't make exceptions for this one case. By doing so, it would make the remaining players and other 3rd place finishers unhappy.

Yep, 2 of the 6 had asked about an alternative, 1 of the 6 said it still worked, they just had a preference for sooner. The other had to move a work shift, so thankfully he was able to do that. I figured someone would have an issue with work or other plans.

I haven't heard back, so I'm thinking silence is acceptance. I know the one guy had all sorts of honors classes with tests, or activities this week; so he might not be able to make it.

So why don't all 3rd place finishers have a showdown before the match for nintenkings spot?

Lol so I joined & then got communication error...sigh. :/

Well it was nice racing with all of you this past hour! Pretty frustrating on my end, was totally off my game. Bumping into walls and falling off tracks, not good. The first two GP's I was consistently last and realized I was using this new kart I hadn't raced much with. Decided to switch to my usual kart and I was consistently in the middle of the group (aside from the very last race, but Mirror Mode for Bowser's Castle threw me off). Definitely some skilled players here though... maybe once I get back into the game a bit, I'll race with you all another time. Today was just not my day.

Yes it was fun... sorry to KirbyisAwesome for not being able to play more than few races. Hopefully you get the internet issues resolved before Saturday!
